About Barbara Matsuura
Tokyo. Sedona. Decades of training under a Certified Master Healer.
I didn't become a healer through a weekend workshop.
I became one through decades of seeking what most people never find: dedicated training under a Certified Master Healer.
My path began with a question: What does real energy healing look like?
That question took me across three continents and decades of study — not because I wanted impressive credentials, but because I refused to practice something I hadn't genuinely learned.
In Tokyo, I earned my Shihan license from the Japan Health Tai Chi Chuan Association and my Qigong Master Healer certification under a Qigong Master Healer from Beijing.
A Shihan license is not something you can purchase. It is not something you receive after a weekend course. It requires years of apprenticeship, rigorous examination, and demonstrated ability to teach at the level your master taught.
In Japan, Qigong is part of the martial arts training — not a spa treatment. The practice is rigorous. It takes years, not weekends.
In China, Qigong is not a wellness trend. It is part of the medical system. Hospitals use it. Research institutions study it. Practitioners complete formal certification programs that take months or years, not hours.
My Qigong master, trained in Beijing, brought this tradition to Tokyo, where I completed my Qigong Science Certification in self-healing and Daoist Yoga. This training gave me the depth to teach Qigong as a genuine self-healing practice — not a watered-down Western adaptation.
Sedona is where I practice and teach today. I've been here for years, serving this community not just as a practitioner but as a leader.
I served three years as Vice President of the Sedona Metaphysical Spiritual Association — not because I needed the title, but because this community matters to me. My peers in this community chose me for leadership because they'd seen my work and recognized authentic credentials.
I also hold professional memberships in the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP) and the Qigong Institute. I practice Reiki in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition — the original Japanese Reiki tradition from Dr. Mikao Usui.
Here's something most practitioners won't tell you: they benefit when you stay dependent.
I took a different path. My intention is to make you less dependent on me, not more.
That's why I teach Qigong alongside Reiki. You receive the healing support you need now while learning practices you'll use forever.
Receive Reiki healing AND learn Qigong self-healing. That's the path.
These credentials are verifiable. Ask me for documentation. That's what separates legitimate practitioners from weekend warriors.
Your discernment has been protecting you from unqualified practitioners. Now it's brought you to someone whose credentials you can verify. Experience the difference.
